Of the Western Balkan region countries, Kosovo will represent Prime Minister Albin Kurti, meanwhile, its President Aleksandar Vuciq. Their participation in the same forum is taking place at a time when tensions between Kosovo and Serbia have increased due to a Kosovo Central Bank decision to stop payments with the Serbian dinar. This decision has entered into force on February 1st amid international criticism, and the United States has said that its disregard for the American call for postponement of the decision has influenced the quality of reports between Washington and Pristina.
Meanwhile, the number two American politics, Kamala Harris, who has participated in Munich in 2022 and 2023, this time faces more difficulties. It this year faces duty to ensure allies that Washington remains committed to protect security Theirs after Trump, considered the main candidate to win the republican nomination for president, has questioned the protection of NATO allies who fail to spend enough to protect them from a possible invasion by Russia.
Harris plans to pledge that the US will never leave its obligations to NATO and compare Beden's commitment to global engagement with the isolational views of Trump, a White House official by Reuters was quoted as saying.
The vice president will be re-arranged to defeat failed ovationism, authoritarianism and unilapalism... and will denounce these short-term approaches to foreign policy, which are dangerous and destabilizing”, the White House official said.
Harris is expected to meet Zelensky during the conference, the White House said.
She in Munich will join the US Secretary of State, who stayed the day before in Albania, where she said Washington and Tirana have an extraordinary “partnership”.
The US vice president is also expected to express confidence that the American people will continue to support the use of the Biden administration towards Ukraine.
Ukraine, largely dependent on the military and economic aid it receives from Western allies, is facing a lack of ammunition and military equipment on the battlefield, and is now facing intense fighting in the eastern city of Avdjivka.
Kiev is also desperately seeking to replenish supplies with air protection systems in order to protect civilians and infrastructure that were hit almost daily by Russian grants and drone attacks.
Harris will surely be asked about the $95.34 billion military aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan that the Senate, led by the Democrats, approved. February 13th. But this package may never be sent for a vote to the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, as Trump opposes this assistance.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's European allies have started to boost their support for Kiev.
