Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov said half of all military aid promised for his country arrives late, costing his country dearly on the battlefield.
If what's divided doesn't arrive in time, we lose personnel, we lose territories. This is a war where the Allied forces must provide time supplies. At the moment, commitment is not surrender” he said.
Speaking at a conference in Kiev, Umedrov blamed delays in what he called a <x0-dynamic and changing” situation, CNN reports.
His comments come as Ukraine's support from its allies appears to be wavering.
A bailout package from the United States remains blocked in Congress, while the European Union has failed in previous commitments to supply Ukraine with more ammunition.
Ukraine is trying to meet this lack by boosting its defence industries. Speaking at the same conference, Ukraine's Strategic Industry Minister Oleksandri Kamysin said the country's defence industry tripled its production capacity last year.
Kamyshin noted, however, that Ukraine needs much more ammunition than it can produce.
Regardless of how much we increase production in Ukraine, the needs of our front line are bigger than the United States and the European Union combined”, Kamyshin said.
