The Democratic Party of Kosovo has dubbed Pristina Mayor Irik Musliu's decision, Rama Progress, for the dismissal of Public Services Director Iliric Musliu, coming from this party. This party claims Rama's decision comes after they made it public against the exchange of property. Rama himself has said the dismissal is about waste management.
Pristina Mayor Kopar Rama has dismissed Ilirik Musliu from the post of Public Services Director yesterday. Musliu comes from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, a party with which the Democratic League of Kosovo co-governance with the capital.
The decision, Rama argued with the garbage situation in the capital.
We are all witnesses to the current alarming situation in the capital regarding waste management. As head of the capital, I've been searching on the relevant directorate for a solution to this alarming and unacceptable situation for a year now. Despite all these requirements, however, the situation has not improved but has deteriorated. So, today, I got a V. ENDIM to relieve Public Services Director”, Rama wrote.
Moreover, I inform you that, in the quality of the capital's mayor, I have made efforts by creating a Task Force and sharing an additional budget for this director and relevant company, but despite this continued support there has been no results from the directorate in question. So I have decided to intervene and deal with the resolution of this” situation, says the post.
The deputy mayor of the municipality, also coming from PDK, Donjeta Sahatciu, said the hidden dismissal is related to the PDK's stance on the exchange of property.
“This dismissal, which today's big and small in Pristina, knows it has nothing to do with waste and Ilirik, comes as the PDK publicly reiterated our political stance that we will by no means support its proposal for exchange of property with the Badovci area and any other proposal that undermines public interest”
But Sahatqi didn't stop here. She accused Rama of giving orders for digitalisation in education during December without her knowledge. According to Sahatciut, this is a harmful process with scandalous budget planning.
“Progress Rama in December ordered the launch of procurement procedures for digitalisation in education without my knowledge, as I, in the quality of the U.D. Education director, I refused to sign a statement of availability for a harmful process, without ASHI permission, against the audience's recommendations, with the specifics of scandalous budget planning. Likewise, Progress Rama, as chief Administrator, has been able to give orders for any process that has been able to regulate waste management without Ilirik's knowledge and involvement. Why didn't he, you know, he himself” wrote it.
Even PDK Assemblyeers Chief Leutrim Retkoceri has called this decision revenge, as they publicly appeared not to support this exchange.
“Rama for Badovc has retaliated! After publicly showing that the PDK does not support the exchange of property in Badovc with its former clients”, Retkoceri said.
Pristina's first decision came just a day after the coalition partner, The PDK was openly opposed to the decision that had been adopted with its proposal for exchange of municipal property to New Pristina with the private properties of the two businessmen in Badoc, who previously had clients.
PDK Assembly chief Leutrim Retkocer stated that the coalition is continuing, but that it means voting down points for which they have preliminary conviction.
He said this party has declared even during the campaign against exchanges.
“Yes, of course we are in the coalition ... Even we as part of the government, as the Democratic Party of Kosovo, in the Pristina municipality, have a clear and consistent position on the issue. Our candidate for chairman has another claim that he opposes construction in Badoc and exchanges as well. In 2021, this case has come to the Municipal Convention for the first time, first exchange... group of The PDK has not supported the exchange then or supported it today. Our question today of why we are in the coalition does not mean that we with automatism can vote for specific points, for which we have preliminary conviction and have clear positions”, Retkoceri said.
The PDK) did not participate in the session when this point was put to the polls.
“We have not entered the session with the conviction that without our entry this point will not receive an assembly vote. In our opinion, this is not a point of interest in the public because there are after forms and other opportunities to be treated...”, Retkozer said.
He pointed out even though the PDK) went against the decision.
“We have called and our protest has been that more transparency is needed not only in exchange, but also other issues, especially. The concrete issue, if the public interest, we have since 2021, I have a statement that was issued to former President Shpend Ahmeti, what are you doing with these exchanges, that you've taken a mountain and you've given land... I believe that not enough public interest has been met, for which we always raise our voices and have different differences and beliefs”
For the passage of this proposal, he sometimes blamed Vetevendosje for making the quorum.
VV) Assemblyeers chief Gezim Svechla interpreted this as PDK's fear and powerlessness to come up against the ruling partner
“From lack of power and fear to deal with the coalition partner and the chairman, he's dealing with Vetevendosje, he says why he's here, he doesn't deal with the Democratic League why you voted you”, he said.
Svechla later cited the PDK's absence at other hearings and raised doubts that reports between the ruling partners have broken. He said that directors don't go to work or talk to each other.
They neither work nor communicate with each other. Pristina was never my home lord.
When the plan for the Kalabria Quarter arrived, these do not enter session”, Svecla said.
That's what Retkocer denied.
“is not real, don't slander”, he said.
In addition, Svechla said some 15 points of the agenda have failed to vote “because these pledges are failing to equalise their interests”
He even asked the Speaker of the Parliament, coming from LDK) Plumb Bajcinovci, if they are in a coalition with the PDK, but he did not respond.
For voting against, Bajqinovci said he sees it very democratic.
There were times when the Democratic League delegates voted against the mayor, which is completely democratic... I see it very democratic and sound”, Bajqinovci said.
Retkocer gave an answer to this.
And I told him the joys that today if we're going to leave the country to enter the coalition. I'd rather go in than try to check out the tin. It's good because we're talking about a coalition to focus on the issues that are important to citizens. We're in a coalition and I'm telling why we're in. We have entered the coalition to continue a course of a campaign that we have after and a belief of citizens that the vision and spirit of that campaign enter into office and benefit the interests of the citizens of Pristina. In our beliefs and goals, we are not surrounded by specific questions”, Retkocer said.
