A video with solidifying messages from world leaders for Ukraine appeared at the start of summit works.
At the beginning of his speech, Prime Minister Rama expressed gratitude for the participation of all leaders in this summit.
I feel especially humble to welcome the President of Ukraine, my friend Volodymyr Zelensky to Tirana. We are deeply honoured that you made this journey to Tirana amid the extraordinary responsibility of leadership not only of your nation, but of the entire democratic world in resisting the war that has brutally challenged our democratic world”, Rama said.
The prime minister stressed that neither Ukraine nor the democratic world chose this war.
“This is a war neither Ukraine nor our community of nations with the same attitude chose, a catastrophe conceived by the choice of a single man led by an old dream of an imperial past”, Rama said.
Your presence here is a reminder that he (Vladimir Putin) has not succeeded, and despite its military power of toxic propaganda, Russia has failed to suppress the will of the Ukrainian people to live in an independent and democratic homeland”, Rama said.
