The number two of Kosovo's government and the man with the burden of Brussels' negotiations, Besnik Bislimi, is constantly demanding that the European Union remove Kosovo measures since conditions for de-seprehending have been met. In an interview for KTV, Bislimi has said that the EU must force Kosovo to rescroll the situation to show that the situation in the country's north has de-extended. But the EU has consistently been clear that the measures for de-pass have still been met, whenever Kosovo has called for the removal of measures.
Regarding this statement by Kosovo's chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, European Union spokesman Peter Stano has spoken.
Stano has said official Brussels does not feel necessary to comment on “everything someone says in Kosovo”.
The EU spokesman has now said that EU expectations from Kosovo are clearly formulated in a number of conclusions of the European Union Council and the Council of General Affairs within the EU Council.
Stano has said the EU expects from its aspiring partners to join the EU for one day to behave and act in a European way and in line with expectations. Otherwise, Stano says, those who do not do so will only become more isolated and risk straying from the EU path.
“We don't need to comment on everything anyone in Kosovo says. EU expectations by Kosovo authorities were very clearly formulated in a number of conclusions of the European Council and GAC conclusions. We expect partners who aspire to join the EU one day to behave and act in a European manner in line with these expectations. Otherwise they will only be isolated further and risk an exit from the track to the EU.”, Peter Stano has said.
Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi in an interview on February 14th has said that Kosovo has met all requirements of the 27 European Union member states that the EU abolish punitive measures. He has said he has called for the formal removal of measures from Brussels, as the situation in the north has de-executed, warning that “don't force us to evacuate the market situation we de-ex1>.
I'm saying, if now the EU says we have another condition, they stop me from being measures for de-pass. They get different meaning. So it tends to sell the same product five times. It's mass misuse. And we have said, measures should be removed due to de-pass. Don't force us to escape the market we're de-exceting. The situation in the north has de-extended. Show that the measures that are set out to do this no longer have their basis, therefore it is unreasonable to introduce”, Bislim said.
Due to the North Government's actions and the refusal of the de-border action company, the European Union on June 28th has taken some measures against Kosovo, which continue to remain in force.
Kosovo institutions' leaders have consistently described them as unfair and unproportional and have demanded that they be removed. The EU has called for the removal of measures from Kosovo to meet certain conditions, related to the de-expasses, including the reduction of special units in the north, the removal of the heads of four municipalities there and the holding of new elections.
The conclusions of the EU Council adopted in December 2023 have been found that punitive measures against Kosovo could be lifted as conditions mentioned by EU High Representative Josep Borell, published on 3 June./GazetaExpress
