The number of active users in social media has increased to over five billion, equal to approximately 60% of the world's population, which, according to official UN estimates, has exceeded eight billion people.
According to a study, this dates back to when Facebook started activity, currently 20 years old, the platform that started the era of social media.
According to the study, the number of social media users has increased by 5.6%, exceeding growth of 0.9% of the world's population.
The most popular social network is Facebook with 2,19 billion users.
The Instagram, also from Meta, is the second with 1.65 billion, followed closely by TikTok with 1.6 billion.
The average social media user spends two hours and 23 minutes a day on his favorite platform, using 6.7 platforms each.
