Selimi: Kurtic relations with the Biden Administration, just like Trump Administration

Former Kosovo Foreign Affairs Minister Petrit Selimi, while commenting on statements by Ambassador of the United States Jeffrey Havenier, has said that Kosovo's government, led by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, is heading towards catastrophic relations with the administration of Joe Biden, just as with former administration of Donald Trump. “One [...]
“A bloody Hovenier pressure on the actions of the Government of Kosovo that jeopardise relations with the US. Kurti's first government had a catastrophic relationship with Trump Administration. Now Kurt's second government is walking the same path as the Biden Administration. Kosovo is also under EU sanctions. But it's never our fault”, Selimi wrote on the social platform, X.
Ambassador of the United States to Kosovo Jeff Hovenier has denied Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who said the issue with the dinar does not affect the report between Kosovo and the United States of America.
Houvenier said this is not true at all and that the report has already been infected by this situation, since Kosovo has not been shown partners with America.
“I am concerned that there are interviews suggesting that US partnership with Kosovo has not been accumulated and cannot be affected by this situation. I gotta be clear, that's not true at all, that's not the case. This situation has only affected the quality of our partnership”, Havenier said, referring to Kurti's statement.
Any suggestion to the contrary (that this situation does not have any impact) points to a misunderstanding or fundamental mispronounce”, Havener said.
We're worried, I'd say we're also frustrated that Kurt's government has not considered our demands. Any suggestions that things are OK, and we're all right with this situation, it's just not true”, Havenier added.
On the other hand, the US ambassador has said that American top diplomat O'Brien has expressed regret that the Government of Kosovo has not responded to this US request.
I'm sorry that I have to call to the attention of the very clear and sharp-negotiated O'Brien's interview on this issue. He has asked for partnership, has expressed his frustration that Kurt's government has not responded to our demands and made it clear that if Mr. Kurti does not treat us as partners he will question whether we can have partnership with this government”.
