Austria's Foreign Minister, Alexander Schallenberg, has met his Kosovo counterpart, Donika Gervalla-Schwarz, during today.

As Austrian MPJ reports, in addition to strengthening only excellent relations between the two countries, Kosovo- Serbia and the political situation in the northern part of Kosovo.

Kosovo has traditionally been Austria's close partner in the Western Balkans. And you can talk to your partners openly, and that's what we did. My message to my counterpart was clear: rapid progress is needed in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, which is normalising relations with neighbouring Serbia. But this requires constructive commitment, both sides must move”, Schalenberg has said, Klankosova.tv reports.

Bilateral reports were also a topic of discussion at the Austrian Foreign Ministry, while stressing that Austria was one of the first EU member states to have recognised Kosovo.

Besides good political reports, Kosovo and Austria have good reports, even economically.

“Austria is one of five investors' tops. In addition, Kosovo is a priority country of Austrian Development Co-operation. Kosovo is currently seeking membership in the Council of Europe, which is generally backed by Austria”, the Austrian MPJ report said.
