Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Rashit Qalaj sees the international reactions related to developments in the country as disturbing. He says he fears increasing measures by the European Union.

The Kosovo Central Bank's regulation concerning the Serbian dinar, the closure of offices in Pec and Dragas are some of the decisions that, according to the internationals, have been made by Kosovo institutions without co-ordination.

It is a fact that during these days, especially during the weekend, there have been numerous reactions from the international and European partners, but also from the American ambassador who has been concerned with the actions of the Kosovo government, especially concrete issues, such as the closure of the Office in Pec and Dragash, the dinar issue, and the issue of the centre near police station<”, says Qalaj for EO.

He stated that during these reactions a harsh language has been used that could affect relations with internationals.

“I can say that Kosovo has been badly damaged so far, it is known that 300m euros are monetary values in Kosovo and that any other measure will hurt even more, allies are disappointed by the policy led by Mr Kurti”, Qalaj says further.

The door also fears setting other measures as a result of these decisions. He says Kosovo would be badly damaged.

The additional “Mas may also have, which would have huge consequences, but I hope Kosovo will start co-ordinating with international allies in order to avoid other measures that would harm Kosovo”, he said.
