Albania's prime minister, Edi Rama, said Albania has made much progress. At the investment summit in the Western Balkans that is being held in London, he said in direct connection that “Albania has changed a lot”.
Responding to the question of why investors should invest in Albania, Rama said his country last year reached 10 million tourists.
Why not? I'm a veteran of these forms because I've been present since this format was born 10 years ago. For 10 years, a lot has changed except for the quantity and color of my hair now. The region is going well and while the world is also changing, Albania has changed a lot. From a country with the stigma of an uncertain country to a country which last year has reached a total of 10 million tourists, more than triple the population we have”, Rama said.
He mentioned new energy resources, while he said Albania's energy system was previously “ready by being destroyed”, because, as he said, the “most of the population did not pay their bills”.
The price of electricity in Albania has not changed at all and we are below the levels of the” region, he said.
Rama said Albania's public debt marked historic decline below 60% at the end of last year, “after reaching May, nearly 80% due to the tragic earthquake, and also the pandemic, which came shortly after the” earthquake.
“Bashka with other countries in the region, we are a good place to add serious investments. They should (invest), because if they don't, someone else does it”, the prime minister of Albania said.
