Thursday evening's interview is the first time Putin has sat down with a Western journalist since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.
Russian leader reiterated many controversial excuses about conflict, including that it was necessary to protect Russian-speaking people in Ukraine and prevent the country from posing a threat to Russia by joining NATO.
He also cited various false Narrativas that Kiev's government is filled with neo-Nazis and the history of Ukraine.
