The Constitutional Prosecutor in Mitrovica has filed a request for the detention assignment for the defendant L.P., official of the Kosovo Tax Administration, as there is suspicion given that he committed criminal acts “The use of official position or authority” and “smuggling with goods“.
According to the report, by February 1st 2024 on the Leposaviq Mitrovica magistrate's route, in the village of Bistrica, “defendant L.P., has been detained by police at the checkpoint, the same has been driving the official Kosovo Tax Administration” respectively.
“During the search in the trunk, two bags of various types of drugs with Serbian banners have been found, without possessing any lead documents”, the prosecution has announced.
The Directorate for Investigation of Economic Crimes has provided details concerning the arrest of ATK official, with initials L. P.
In announcing this directorate, police patrols at the Mitrovica-Leposaviq magistrate, at the Bistrica Bridge at a checkpoint have reportedly banned the vehicle with official license plates, the property of the Kosovo Tax Administration, which the person L directed. P., Kosovo Tax Administration official ( ATK's) and along with it was a passenger, T. J. And also ATK official.
“During the search of the car in question in the trunk of the car have found an amount of various drugs with Serbian banners, for which they did not possess documentation. All investigative actions have been co-ordinated with the competent PPTH-Mitrovica prosecutor, where suspects L. P. The Kosovo Tax Administration during yesterday announced that Kosovo Police have arrested two of its officials from the Serb community. They're suspected of smuggling drugs.
The hearings for the appointment of detention measures against the defendants are expected to be held at the Foundation Court in Mitrovica.
