Police helicopter crashed in Turkey, two people dead, one wounded

A Turkish police helicopter has crashed in Gaziantep. Pilot police chief Cemil Gylen and contracted pilot Levent ãoztürk lost their lives in the accident, while a technician was injured. Pilot police chief Cemil Gylen and contracted pilot Levent ãoztürk lost their lives in the accident, while a technician was injured.

The helicopter, which rose from Hatay to Gaziantep, lost contact about 10:49 a.m. near the village of Kartal at Nurdağı, at 22.49.

Search-saving teams, U n MEC, AFAD, gendarmerie and medical personnel have been sent to the area where the helicopter had recent contacts.

After the teams arrived, the helicopter was completely destroyed. The helicopter technician, who was injured, was taken to the hospital in an ambulance after first aid.

 

The official statement about the accident came from Interior Minister Ali Yerlicaya. Making a statement in his account on social networks, Yerlicaya said: May God have mercy on our heroes pilots and expressed my condolences to their families, our beloved nation and our police department. May our martyrs be exalted. I wish for quick healing. For our wounded cop.

The cause of the helicopter crash will be determined after the investigation.
