Pendarovski: New Albanian institution

Regarding his appointment to this important task, North Macedonia President Stevo Pendarovski has told Euronews Albania.

Pendarovski has indicated that Talat Xhaferin is also known privately since earlier, and added that he is impartial and correct in his work.

“in the past 20 years, after the Ohrid Agreement has been signed, Albanians are very well represented throughout the RMV system. There are no institutions where they have no access. We have Albanians in very high positions. If in 2001 there were 2.4 % now at level 21 %. We had Albanian president, now we have prime minister. I have no doubt that he will be prime minister if there is everyone's votes, the majority is”.

With Mr. Xhaferi, we also work in the official way, but we've known each other privately since the past few years. Talat Xhaferi has worked professionally, impartially, and this has been one of the reasons why LSDM provided support to be speaker of the Parliament in Macedonia”, Pendarovski said.

He has also spoken of his mandate as president, while he said that in the past five years he has been the same for all, regardless of whose ethnicity belongs.

“As for Albanians, put me in a rather uncomfortable position, but I can say that in the past five years Albanians in my responsible activities have reached higher positions. We have generals, Security Council members, etc.”
