For three years, the government led by Albin Kurti has failed to secure new recognitions, while even in the past year one is not expected to happen. That is how political analysts assess.
Failure is billed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diasporas, which is led by Donika Grovalla-Swarz, while connecting it with Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
University professor Dritero Arifi said only a powerful co-ordination between the US and the EU can bring new recognitions, as Kosovo cannot succeed in this regard.
He said the lack of recognition also connects with the interests of states on the political, economic and military side, which according to him, Kosovo cannot offer either.
So as far as political or military interest is concerned, unfortunately Kosovo does not have either, we are not UN members that our vote would be demining for any resolution or anything else. I think that only one consistent job and with a strong co-ordination with the US and the EU can achieve something, otherwise in our terms, even if we employ 1,000 international ambassadors we will not achieve success”, he said.
Arifi said that neither this year does he believe there can be new recognitions, since Kosovo's position is frozen in foreign policy, both on the part of the government and on the part of your protracted dialogue.
He has added that if dialogue is achieved, Kosovo agreement will be unblocked - The EU, then, can be recognised by countries that have not yet recognised it.
“this year I don't believe there will be recognition because Kosovo's position is frozen in foreign policy, even by the Kosovo government itself, and by the protracted dialogue. This puts Kosovo in an unpopular and uninteresting position of attics. So if we manage to unlock the dialogue, in a shape but it's only understood to be impossible, it could likely be that in the Kosovo agreement -- The EU has movement for Kosovo to be recognised by two countries for Kosovo to advance away”, he has said.
Political analyst Shemsy Jashari has said Kosovo diplomacy since the leadership of the Vetevendosje Movement has had major deadlocks in all international reports.
This, according to him, also relates to the fact that the international community has put its pressure on Kosovo-Serbia negotiations, and often international reports are conditioned with progress on the dialogue table.
Kosovo's “Diplomacy in the entire mandate from the leadership of the Vetevendosje Movement, if we can define it as the government in office, we can say there have been major impasses, a statement of all international reports. Kosovo's level of representation has a deadlock on the international level, and the fact that you expect that the international community has decided in relation to Kosovo-Serbia negotiations, where often international reports are conditioned with progress on the table of dialogue, lack of new recognition freely can say we are talking about a diplomacy with a small activity”, he said.
Even Jashar has indicated that during this year Kosovo cannot expect new recognitions, citing the reasons.
“Do not expect new recognition for many reasons, a report created by Kosovo - The EU-US in relation to their demands. The other reason is that 2024 will be an election year for the EU, so every time there are campaigns the parties are voices with their agendas and international reports, visits will have no incentive to move away. Even elections in the United States so that the longer we delay in achieving a report with Serbia will not have international reports and do not wish to expect from a government at the end of the mandate to do big work”, he has said.
We remember that the recent recognition of Kosovo came from Israel, with the mediation of former US President Donald Trump at the White House. At the time, the prime minister was Avdullah Hoti
