The Kosovo government is holding a festive gathering today for the 16th anniversary of Kosovo's independence.
In his address, Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that Kosovo is “the joint house”, which was built with the support of allies.
In addition, Kurti said the state is developing despite challenges.
After the 1998-1999 devastating war, we rebuilt our homes. With support from our international allies, we built our common home, the Republic of Kosovo. A literal parliamentary Republic, with justice and equality for its citizens, contributors to peace and guarantees for peace. A state that democratic values, respect for human rights and all minorities and social justice and solidarity, is essentially of every political and social course. A quarter century after the war, our Republic remains strong. We remain proud because despite challenges, our state is developing”, Kurti said.
Kurti congratulated all Kosovo citizens on this day, until he said the Republic of Kosovo was, is, and will be home to all its citizens, indiscriminately
The same way the day it was proclaimed, 16 years ago, as it was today and every day further, the Republic of Kosovo was, is, and will be home to all its citizens, indiscriminately. So today we celebrate and congratulate not only Albanians but also non-Albanian communities in our Republic, Serbs, Bosniaks, Turks, Roma, Ashkali, Egyptians, Gorani, but also the Montenegrins, Croats, etc.”, Kurti added.
