Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in his address to the Parliament on Independence Day, in addition to the wish of citizens to honour those who fell and sacrificed for Kosovo's independence, also cited Serbia's destabilising actions.

Kurt began his speech remembering the resistance of the people over the years in the successive <x0-seconds of conquests and genocides”.

Its “Time had come in 1981 when people filled the squares and stood up to the tanks, calling on Kosovo Republika. Kosovo became a republic with the Constitutions in the Kacanik Assembly. To fight peaceful demonstrations and protests and freedom rifles of the Kosovo Liberation Army”.

Kurti said there was no further dilemma left in the community of democratic states that the Republic of Kosovo would come.

But Kurti said it was discussed in such a form as “that was acceptable even to its greatest enemy ʹ the Serbian state that had wanted to drown even the idea of the Albanian state”.

“We all knew that if state Serbia had felt at least a bit responsible for the genocide in Kosovo, if the reason rather than the chauvinist revolution had prevailed in its politics, it should have known Kosovo since 2008. The Republic of Kosovo guarantees the best rights for minorities in our region, especially for Serbs who benefit and contribute to our joint state”.

Kurt also mentioned the discrimination and ethnic cleansing of Albanians in the Valley through the passive display of addresses.

“Plus, Albanians in the Presevo Valley are the most discriminated minority in Europe that is still undergoing cleansing through so-called display of addresses. It is unfortunate that our northern neighbour has chosen the path of confrontation and blocking the internal functioning of our Republic and its foreign recognition”.

Prime Minister Kurti, ahead of ambassadors present in the Assembly, spoke of Serbia's refusal to implement the last agreement reached with Kosovo, as well as its terrorist actions towards Kosovo.

Kurti said that on September 24, 2023, Kosovo had to testify again.

It had initially rejected the Franco-German proposal, and today continues to reject signing the basic agreement for normalising relations with Kosovo that brings good European neighbourhood. Instead, she even embraced terrorism even there failed shame in the face of our police heroism and professionalism. But for the protection of our Republic from financed terrorists, exercised and directed by Serbia, we had to testify again. Sergeant Africa Twins adds to our martyrs' shed. Without their subliance sacrifice we would not remember today the anniversary of the Republic. Glory to the martyrs! The Republic never forgets you”
