Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is participating in the Western Balkans Investment Summit, which is being held in London.
In his pre-participatory speech attended by other prime ministers of the Balkan countries, Kurti said Kosovo is dedicated to order, law and fighting corruption in line with the United States, the European Union and Great Britain.
“We are dedicated to order, law and fight against full-fledged corruption with America, the EU and Britain, both in political and business values, especially after Russian aggression in Ukraine”, he has said.
The prime minister has mentioned that Kosovo has been recognised by 117 countries around the world, 3 out of the 4 neighbouring countries -- Montenegro and Northern Macedonia -- recognise Kosovo, but still from Serbia.
We have no connection with the Russian federation, we have imposed sanctions on Russia. We want Ukraine to win the war and we need democratic Europe and the world to see the defeat of Kremlin and Putin. So we don't have cooperation with them, even though they would like to, but we don't want”, Kurti said.
Kurti further added that my country's name is “the Republic of Kosovo”, not like “Kosovo and Metohija” as stated here.
My country is called the Republic of Kosovo, not how Metohija and Kosovo are referred to here. If I went down this road, I would take too long, since besides Serbia, I would have to say Serbia and Vojvodina, Sandzak, Toplica Raska and Presevo Valley. Better to focus on economic”, Kurti said.
On the panel with Kurti is Serbia's prime minister, Ana Brnabiq, who was sometimes praised for economic development.
Kurt has also mentioned progress in economic development and institutional stability, which, according to him, has helped fight security risks.
Regarding regional cross-border priorities, Kurti has said investments are needed for both transport and energy and infrastructure.
The prime minister has declared that around 7 billion euros separated from the EU are only targeted.
