Prime Minister Albin Kurti said it is difficult to proceed with the founding of the Serb majority municipalities' association when Serbia is refusing to sign the agreement.
Kurti said in an interview for the American media, Bloomberg that Serbia violated the agreement reached a year ago and the annex agreed on in Ohrid in March last year.
“So it's very difficult for me to proceed further when they don't sign the agreement, they don't respect it and finally send a letter saying they don't respect it in”, he said.
The agreement is considered legally binding by international co-operation, which views as an urgent matter of establishing association.
US Ambassador to Kosovo said a week ago that the Kosovo government must accept the draft status proposed by the EU and thus pave the way for its submission to the Constitutional Court.
“We believe that this government should adopt, somehow, draft the statute offered and submit it to the Constitutional Court in a way that the Court agrees to grant it jurisdiction, so that the Court can then implement the revision of its constitutionality, which is an important step in this process”, has said Hovier for RTV21.
