Greece's prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, has once again expressed his state's stance in relation to the recognition of Kosovo, independent and sovereign state.
From Belgrade, where he is standing on an official visit hosted by Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, the Greek government chief stressed that dialogue, as he calls it between Pristina and Belgrade, was the topic of discussion.
The president, Vuciq, told me about the dialogue with Pristina. You know that our position regarding Kosovo remains unchanged, and we believe that European mediation and dialogue are the only way for normalising relations between the two sides. This would help significantly, stability in the region that is the goal for all of us.”, Mitsotakis stressed.
Mitsotakis, added that the “concern we are tracking developments in recent months”. And he added that the integration of the entire Western Balkans into the EU is the strategic goal of the Hellenic republic, Clankosova reports.tv.
While Vuciq, during the media conference with the prime minister from Athens, added that “Serbia and Greece, have all supported each other territorial integrity, and I believe it will always be, in the future.”
Greece, along with Spain, Cyprus, Romania, and Slovakia, make up five of the member states of the European Union, which do not recognise Kosovo's independence.
The EU has 27 member states.
