The prime minister says the census is the government's commitment to addressing the needs of citizens indiscriminately and the basis for decisions which will affect Kosovo's future.
“The census provides accurate and complete demographic, socioeconomic and geographical data that are essential to informed decision making at every level. These statistics help direct policies and services for the benefit of citizens, increasing transparency and accountability in democracy. They also help in more efficient accommodation of resources for services that the public sector offers”, Kurti said.
Kurti also reaffirmed the government's commitment to the population registration process.
“The government has allocated the necessary budget, provided room for training and secured logistics, engaging in interilateral and international co-ordination to ensure a quality and inclusive census”, the prime minister's office has announced.
