Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said that if he is called to Brussels for signing the agreement, I will go.
If they call us for signing the deal, I'll definitely go. I have been constructive and devoted even when we were called to Brussels, the round of talks cannot be said to have been successful. I do this for the EU, but I also do it because we have to have normal relations with Serbia. As for me, relationships would normalise since last year, but if it wasn't done in February and March of 2023, and it could be in February 2024, why not”, Kurti said.
The head of the Government has stressed that with European Union diplomacy chief Josep Borrell, they have discussed dialogue and the importance of signing agreements, Kurti's statement announces.
“ ...but I was not told there would be an invitation for a summit in Brussels. If that invitation comes to me, of course, we will examine it and I'm generally positive, but I re-inflammatory that the partial violations and disrespect of the agreements Serbia has made, which culminated in the letter of Bronabiq Prime Minister, that she practically withdrew from the deal, and they are virtually cancelled under the subsign”, Kurti stressed.
Havenier denied it, but Kurt again: We are partners, friends and allies
Despite US Ambassador Jeff Hovenier, said last week that the partnership between Kosovo and the US has already been affected, Prime Minister Albin Kurti continues to say otherwise.
Kurti has said today that reports with the United States of America (SHBA) are good, adding how allies “do not mean that we absolutely agree every time”.
Kurti has indicated Monday that the Government is tasked with respecting the Kosovo Central Bank regulation (BQK) that banned the use of the Serbian dinar.
I have not said the position of any other state, but as prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo I have spoken that our reports, our co-operation with the United States of America (SHBA) is We're very good partners, allies, friends, This does not mean that we absolutely agree in every country for everything, but in this respect we have a new Kosovo Central Bank regulation that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, under the Constitution and the law, has to support, so I also say that our reports are very good and that I stand by this word”, Kurti said.
What did Havenier say last week?
We have hoped that Prime Minister Albin Kurti's government would engage, as partners do, to resolve this issue together, rather than take action unilaterally... we are concerned that Kurti's government has not done that. Whatever suggestion things are okay, that we all agree with each other, it's not true at all. We are concerned and frustrated and I think the tone of assistant Secretary O'Brien reflects this very clearly”, said Havener.
O'Brien says Kosovo questioned partnership with US with decision on dinar
US Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia James O'Brien has said that the United States may not treat Kosovo as a partner if it makes decisions without consulting it, following the decision to ban the dinar.
In an interview for Voice of America On Tuesday afternoon, O'Brien said: “I do not make vague threats publicly. I would say, if we are not treated as partners, we will not treat the Kosovo government as partner”. /Periscope
