Russia has rejected a Swiss idea of possible talks in Geneva for a peace plan in Ukraine, without Moscow's participation.
Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky has said on February 25th that he hopes that at a summit of world leaders -- to be held in Switzerland in the following months -- to discuss his vision of peace after Switzerland's president, Violet Amherd -- has said that her neutral state is ready to be the host of a high-level peace conference.
“I hope the [samblem] develops this spring. We should not lose this” diplomatic initiative, Zelensky said, adding that he expects the results to be presented later in Moscow.
But Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called this on February 26th as strange “”.
As far as we've understood, the issue in the agenda is strange, the so-called Geneva platform a conference to discuss Zelensky's peace plan”.
We've repeatedly said this is a strange arrangement, because some peace plans are being discussed without Russia's participation, and this is actually not serious, it's funny”, Peskov said at the media conference.
