The KSF's response says this unprecedented event raises serious questions about the fulfillment of human, medical and ethical responsibilities of healthcare professionals.
According to reports and doubts raised by the girl's parents who were broadcast to the media, the late allegedly had undergone an attack by two other children, being hit hard on the back and chest, which has also led to her crash on the street”, it is said in the media communique.
With all the child's plight, the parents have indicated that the medical response to her condition has been insufficient. They claim that during yesterday they have asked for medical help several times for their daughter, but have received only some superficial advice from the medical team, dramatically underestimating the severity of her situation”.
According to parents, the girl has not received a thorough medical examination, and the proper treatment has been neglected by causing fatality, which according to the KOMF raises deep concern and questions about the professional ethics of the medical staff.
Given this serious event, The KOMF has called for institutions responsible in fulfilling their mandate to address the case's absolute priority and immediately take the necessary actions and measures under the legislation in force.
We seek immediate institutional attention to alleged medical neglect and its fatal consequences. We ask the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into the medical practices followed in this case, providing full accountability by local institutions”.
Child protection organisations have also called for full implementation of legislation in force and undertaking all measures according to the results of the investigation, to prevent such tragedies in the future.
“The KPMF will continue to closely follow further proceedings on the part of the institutions and will continue to seek accountability from them, taking collective responsibility to ensure that our children develop in a safe and caring environment, where their fundamental rights are protected and are the foundation of society's development. KOMF expresses sincere condolences to the family for severe loss and wishes that such cases do not repeat”, is announced in the announcement.
