According to the announcement on the “X”, KFOR's “commander has stressed the importance of continued and effective co-ordination and co-operation with all security institutions, including KFOR and EULEX”.
“Comandant confirmed that KFOR is monitoring the situation closely and remains ready to act in line with its mandate, based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244, to preserve a safe environment for all communities living in Kosovo and freedom of movement”, the report said.
The United States of America has expressed fears that Kosovo risks facing new tensions, following the new Kosovo Central Bank's entry into force for stopping the Serbian dinar, with which currency Serbia pays Serbs in Kosovo. And Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca has provided assurances that the situation will not go out of control as a result of the Serbian dinar ban.
