Iron Murati launches measures for citizens' employment in four northern municipalities

Finance, Labour and Transfers Minister Hekuran Murati along with Minister for Communities and Kthim Nenad Rassic met today with Leposaviqi Mayor Lulzim Hetemi.

According to the MPPT communiqué, employment measures for northern Mitrovica citizens, Leposaviqi, Zvecan and Zubin Potok were discussed at this meeting.

“During this meeting, Minister Murati presented the employment measure for northern Mitrovica citizens Leposaviqi, Zvecan and Zubin Potok. To support citizens' employment in these municipalities, MPPT will subsidize 70 per cent of the gross salary for six months to the maximum of 350 euros”, the communique says.

There are certain criteria that must be met to benefit from this measure.

To take advantage of this measure, job seekers must be registered as such at the employment office in their respective municipality, to be over 18 years old, and to be residents in one of the four northern municipalities. While, employers should also be based in one of the four northern municipalities, as well as be functioning fairly, as envisioned through Kosovo legislation”.

“Recall that the government's support through schema “for Families” started by subsidising wages for family members who had no employees, where more than 2,600 families have thus far benefited, including citizens in four northern municipalities. Later, support expanded for victims of domestic violence. While, now all citizens from the four northern municipalities, whether they have an employee or not, are joining the scheme, thus guaranteeing comprehensive and dignified employment for all”.
