Intensors: DP shouts in SPAK Rama and Veliaj

The official Democratic Party has related to the SPAK Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, as far as the issue of intensaries is concerned, citing seven criminal acts for both politicians.

According to an official report, the statement was carried out by DP Secretary General Enkeleed Alibeaj.

The criminal acts the prime minister and capital mayor are accused of are:

“Active corruption of top state officials”, “Failed to parse task”, “The violation of equality in tenders or public auctions”, “Corruption Passive of those exercising public office”, “Corruption bastion of high state officials or local elected”, “Cleaning of criminal works products or criminal activity”, carried out in co-operation in the <x12 Group structured criminal”, as well as “The chairmanship of criminal acts by criminal organisation and structured criminal group<15155).

In connection with the indictment, after the deposit, the Democrat MP Oriola Pamuri spoke.

All charges are in the document we submitted to SPAK. All the evidence is already on display. Everything new will become known, when SPAK gets the case back under investigation”, Pampuri said.

The indictment also reportedly should bear criminal responsibility, any person who has not been identified by name by former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj in his interview, but on the basis of statements has criminal responsibility in connection with the favour taken on by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

In regard to the issue of intensaries, former Ahmetaj -- declared in the search, in a TV interview -- pressed grave accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama and Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj, stressing that they have a finger on the corrupt relationship.

Prime Minister Rama, meanwhile, has decided not to comment on Ahmetaj's accusations.

That has been the position of Albanian government leader Edi Rama questioned by reporters about the charges brought by the former sv. Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj.

According to Rama, “has a general characteristic of all those who have issues of justice, who feel victims of dark forces or other forces, but it is nothing to me and for us to explain this phenomenon”

“Who has a problem with justice solved with justice. There's no exception for any reason. I've been very serious since the first day I said: we want a reform of justice to finally pave the way to a Albania where there's never been justice, a justice that is out of the influence of executive power, and that we've achieved today”.

Since July 2023, former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has been on the run and has been declared internationally sought by Albanian justice authorities, in terms of the intensive relative.

He is charged with using task” to “defaulting property”, “corruption” and “money laundering”.

Investigation

The investigation into the former deputy prime minister began on the issue of intenserators and has now joined the denouncing of his hiding income, following the raids the SPAK conducted at his co-existence villa.

The investigative file reports that Ahmetaj has directly or indirectly benefited about 500 thousand euros, covering the true nature of their source.

Beyond the general investigation into the intensaries, where several former senior officials -- including former Environment Minister Lefter Coca, former Alqi Blace, but also citizens Mirel Mertri, Klodian Zozo and Stella Gugallja -- criminal proceedings on Ahmetaj are being dealt with separately.

Ahmetaj has declared that as former economy minister and as former finance minister, there has been no decision-making role for the inspectors.

But the file says that with the letter of June 27, 2016, Arben Ahmetaj, then the finance minister, has indicated that overall criteria set out by the VKM have been fulfilled in connection with following concession procedures.

This, in the case of Fier's concessional project approval, is behind the obstacle being made to this procedure by his predecessor, former minister, Shkelqim Cani.

Likewise, Ahmetaj has denied the relationship to the Lord, for which he has indicated that he only recognises him as a businessman, while in terms of the villa in Hamallaj he has declared that it is the property of the co-existence family.

In 2020, Mr. Zono, the businessman declared himself searching for charges of active corruption and money laundering, wrote to a hotel where he paid his credit card years ago and demanded that he confirm the payment made in favour of the former deputy prime minister.

The email reveals that Zoro has booked or paid with his credit card Ahmetaj's positions.

In the investigative file, several payments for hotels Ahmetaj has been documented.

It says that all these details have been taken advantage of by the control of Klodian Zoro e-mail, where the reservations he made on behalf of Arben Ahmetaj were all paid by Klodian Zoro have been confirmed.

Concretically, Ahmetaj, as well as his former wife and associate, Erila Hoxha, benefited 9 trips paid by Zoro from 2013 to 2017.

Mostly the hotels in which they have stayed are in EU countries, Italy, Austria, France and Germany.

Some of Ahmetaj and Mirel Murray's trips are listed in the SPAK file, at least since 2012 they have continued in 2014 when concession procedures for inscientists have taken place.
