IKD: Iron Murati still no action to solve pensioners problem

Kosovo's Institute for Justice (IKD) suggests that on Friday of last week, February 23rd, 2024, they are addressing Finance, Labour and Transfers Minister Hekuran Murati, with a request for the return of legitimacy and fair law enforcement in relation to Kosovo pensioners, who are also beneficiaries [...]
The announcement issued by them is said to have come as a result of IKD's analysis due to the situation of the country's citizens, pensioners, who despite several years of work and the achievement of retirement age, are being denied the right to basic retirement as a result of misunderstanding and misinterpreting the law on the part of the MPT Pension Departments.
“The IKD has also demanded that as soon as possible be done towards addressing this situation, because the approach of the MFPT to these cases has created an unpleasant situation, where thousands of Kosovo citizens, aged 92 years, are being forced to roam the offices of the Pension Departments, are being forced to come from different, deep regions of the country, creating unnecessary expenses, only to seek the realisation of a right that belongs to”
“Aday, the IKD has asked Minister Murati to exercise his powers and responsibilities as minister and without delay to return and implement legality through the establishment of a judicial act, through which it imposes Pension Departments to make proper application of the laws of the Republic of Kosovo, or without delay to avoid the wrong interpretation being done to current legislation”, the statement said.
