US Ambassador Jeff Hovenier, in his conversation with reporters, in various parts of his responses has spoken about the report between the United States of America and Kosovo, this issue that is re-acted after the dinar decision.
Havenier has said the US has always been with the people of Kosovo, is currently and will always remain. He has returned to his statement issued in co-operation with journalists, that this does not imply that any government can receive American support for any election it makes.
The American ambassador has said the US supports a decision when he sees the same is in line with US vision and Washington is critical when he sees that a government election is against American targets.
I want to say something I said earlier, but the United States is committed as never before to the people of Kosovo. We have been with the people of Kosovo since the beginning, we are with the people of Kosovo now. And we will be with the people of Kosovo. Now, we are with them, as I said, in the context of our vision, which we believe is divided into the Declaration of Independence and Constitution of this country, of a sovereign, democratic, multiethnic state in which all citizens live in conditions of peace and security. That's how it stays. And so, and we will not withdraw from that commitment or partnership with people. As I have said before, although this does not mean that every Kosovo government will have support for the elections they make, to the extent that their elections match that vision, we will support them. To the extent that we believe that these elections reduce or undermine those goals, we will be critical of”, Houvenier said.
He has said he does not want to enter into specifics and exactly what the US will do, stressing that it can only talk about the fact that a degraded partnership has consequences and implications.
“The specifics of how this is gonna happen and exactly what we're gonna do. As I've said over and over again, this is not the time to enter those specifics, I can only talk about the fact that a degraded partnership has consequences and implications”, it's over.
