The court court in the court case against Hashim Thaci and others have approved Gregory Kehoe's withdrawal as Thaci's chief advocate.
The Special Court has said that the verdict comes into force when the administration appoints the deputy defender.
Given that Thaci and Luka Misetiq (currently one of Thaci's defenders) agreed that Misethiqi should replace Keho, the Judicial Chamber invited the parties and administration to take the necessary steps to appoint Misetiqi as Thaci's chief defenders as soon as possible”, the statement said.
The court has also approved the withdrawal of Thaci's other defender, Joe Reeder, as it instructed the administration to decide on the request for the withdrawal of three legal aides and five team aides.
Due to the failure to meet financial obligations, Thaci's defence team in charge of Kehoen had sought to withdraw from Thaci's representation in the war crimes case and crimes against humanity before the Specialised Chambers in The Hague.
