Excavations at Prekaz complete, expected to continue at four more locations

Meanwhile, according to him, excavations at other designated locations will continue in the coming days.
“As agreed during the Government Commission meeting on Missing Persons, held on February 7th, during these weeks we are engaged in four locations (Prakaz, Skenderaj; Suhareka; Tusuz, Prizren; and a location for ID confirmation in Podujevo. The assessment excavations in Prekaz that have been realised over the past four days have already ended. The remains (a scrap) exhumed bone will be examined by forensic experts in terms of both identification. As long as we continue in the next few days at the other top locations of”, he has declared.
He has also criticised Belgrade's politicising approach towards this process.
He has announced that a planned meeting in Croatia on February 29th is part of regional co-operation under way by the Regional Plan for addressing cases of missing persons during wars on the territory of the former Yugoslavia.
“The meeting in the Republic of Croatia, scheduled for February 29th 2024, is within the framework of regional co-operation in the implementation of the Regional Plan for addressing cases of missing persons during the wars on the territory of the former Yugoslavia”, he has said.
He has added that at the meeting it includes the participation of several other regional countries, including the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.
