President Recep Tayip Erdogan has said that taking command of NATO's mission, KFOR, has shown that Turkey is important to peace and stability in Kosovo.
In his trip to Kosovo for the 16th anniversary of Kosovo's independence, Erdogan has voiced optimism that relations with Kosovo will continue to develop.
“I am fully confident that multilateral friendly relations between Turkey and Kosovo, which take their power from historical, economic, humanitarian and cultural ties, will continue to develop. Taking over KFOR's command last year is a concrete indication of the importance we give to peace and stability in both Kosovo and the region and our efforts in this”, Erdogan's leadership is said to be among other things.
Erdogan has also announced President Vjosa Osmani that he will be part of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, held from 1 March to 3 March.
Turkey took over KFOR command in October last year.
