Despite meetings that are now being realised, the Kosovo Police Union and the Government have not yet reached a solution in terms of requests put forward by police officers.
Disgusted with the working conditions, Kosovo police officers have twice protested before the Kosovo government, where they have even submitted their 14 demands.
Among the requirements was the retirement law at the age of 55, life insurance, the involvement of certain units in the labour market, etc.
Kosovo Police Union Chairman Imer Zeqiri in a statement on Telegrafia indicated that in the next week, they will also hold a meeting with Interior Minister Jelal Svechla,
The next “We have scheduled a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs, will analyse the requirements once again, and set priorities for what can be realized immediately and what may remain. So has been the agreement made earlier with Minister”, he stressed.
The chief unionist has earlier declared that during 2023, about 100 police officials have resigned from the Kosovo Police, and that this is happening because of poor conditions.
By the end of November last year, voluntary resignations have provided 87 police officials. Without including December, which I think has increased by 100 resignations, which are not few. I'm just saying with a few exceptions, there might be an official who started three or four years ago, otherwise, they're all more like 10 or 15 years of experience in the Kosovo Police”
Below are the Kosovo Police's submitted requests:
1. Improved conditions, clothing, labor tools, police facilities and other equipment;
2. The risk for the police is permanent and not dependent on one country, and the additions are 25 per cent to 50 per cent of the base salary and the commission will be formed, which will make the division of additions;

4. The retirement law at age 55;
5. Life insurance and health fund growth;
