The number of couples who have ended their marriage has increased over the years. During the year 2023, 1000 and 713 couples have ended their marriage. The figures are published by the Kosovo Statistics Agency (ASK).
The number of divorces has increased compared to a year ago. A total of 11,000 and 685 divorce cases have been recorded in Kosovo during 2022.
But drastic growth of divorces is seen after 2020. According to AKS data during 2020, only 220 couples have ended their marriage. But this number was multiplied during 2021, with a total of 1,000 and 987 divorces recorded.
