Donald Trump wins Nevada Republican elections

In Nevada, the Republican Party organised two sets of elections -- those by vote through balloting -- that were held Tuesday, and yesterday's elections -- that were held by an open vote. Only the results of yesterday's race, according to party rules, apply to party delegates.

Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Mr. Trump's last rival, who is still in the race, did not participate in yesterday's race. “We are ahead of all”, he said. “Is there any way to announce the election results for next Tuesday? That's all I want. ”

Mr. Trump's supporters waited in long lines Thursday. At one polling site, at an elementary school in the city of Reno, nearly 1,000 people were in line in the first minutes when the polling station opened.

Voters in line, some of whom wore hats and shirts showing they were Mr. Trump's supporters, said they went out to support the former president in a race that would give him the third consecutive victory in the Republican presidential race.

Donald Trump has long been extremely popular among the Republicans of Nevada, but he had other advantages among the party's main figures.
