Kurti has added that the 2024 budget is for nearly 90m euros higher compared to the preceding 2023 year, while for three years the annual budget of municipalities has increased for 195m euros more.

The total municipality “rant for 2024 totals 284.7m euros, which is the highest-value grant ever. Ferizaj and Gjakova municipality are municipalities with mostly infrastructure projects, while Obilqi, Skenderaj, Rahovec are ranked at the top three beneficial municipalities from the municipal performance grant shared by the Ministry of Management and Powers Lokal”, Kurti said.

The prime minister added that each municipality this year has at least 40% higher budgets than three years ago.

Kurti asked the mayors not to contribute to misinformation of citizens when it comes to central support for the local level.

The prime minister also urged co-operation with regard to the population census, which will begin in April.
