Daciq: US wants us as key partner, but condition us with Kosovo

Serbia's Foreign Minister, Ivica Dacic, has said the US is trying to be Serbia's key partner, but that the condition for this is for formal Belgrade to reconcile with their position on Kosovo.

Daciciqi believes the country's leadership in that direction would cause great disappointment in Serbia's citizens

There is no contest that the US wants us to be their main partner, but provided we agree with their position on Kosovo. They tell us not to talk about the past, and we have to say right. For Vuciqi to say that we will not deal with Kosovo, we will recognise it, leave it at the UN, and also be leaders. And our people would curse us”, Daciqi told Serbian television “Kurir”,

He has said the West “does not have mechanisms” to pressure Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, but will investigate elections in Serbia.

The Serbian official also spoke of the opposition there, saying their behavior is damaging Serbia.

He estimates that by their behaviour, the opposition in Serbia is offering support to Kosovo.
