CEC ready for tomorrow's meeting for dinar in Brussels, Government still unanswered for participation

The Kosovo Central Bank has indicated that they are willing to attend tomorrow's meeting in Brussels to discuss the dinar -- a meeting called by the European Union's minister for dialogue, Mirsov Lajcak.

By the CEC, they have indicated that they have already indicated they can participate in such meetings involving monetary currency, the Serbian dinar.

“The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (BQK) has long ago expressed readiness to engage and also meet with the People's Bank of Serbia (NBS), to talk about selecting the option easier for the process of transferring means through bank channels to beneficiary accounts (in Euro)”.

“in this sense, and it answers invitations when necessary, for such informative meetings, as it has consistently done with the international presence in the country”, the CEC told Clankosova.tv.

And yesterday Klisman Kadiu, spokesman for Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, for the participation of the Kosovo team, has said that “has no new or anything different that we have been declared thus far”.

Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has voiced his opposition to Brussels' official request for a meeting next week on the dinar issue, with the argument that this topic is not part of the dialogue.

“No, there is no development, there is a request from Brussels to hold a meeting next week on the issue of transferring coins from Serbia to Kosovo, but this is not a meeting where the chief negotiator should go, because the dinar issue is not part of the dialogue. I go back then when I talk about dialogue”, Bislim said.

Meanwhile, Serbia's team leader in the dialogue, Petar Petkov, has indicated he will participate in the new round of dialogue in Brussels, scheduled for Tuesday, February 27th.
