US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has congratulated the Republic of Kosovo on the 16th anniversary of its declaration of independence.
Blinken in his tour stressed that Kosovo's future lies in Europe and Euro-Atlantic institutions.
“In the name of the United States of America, congratulates the people of Kosovo when you celebrate the sixteenth anniversary as a sovereign and independent state”, Blinken's wish said.
The US secretary also cited the EU's relaxed dialogue, while encouraging Kosovo to implement its pledges.
The United States values our stable partnership, rooted in mutual understanding, common values and friendship among our people. As you continue to make progress in strengthening democratic institutions and promoting rule of law, we will continue to support a multiethnic Kosovo that advances a safer, safer and prosperous region. The United States encourages Kosovo to implement its pledges and move forward through EU facilitated dialogue to reach a comprehensive normalisation agreement with Serbia on the road to mutual eventual recognition”.
