Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi has praised the multi-critical Project from civil society, local and international journalists' organisations for the Independent Media Commission.
For Kosovo, the state that aims to become a member of the EU has no doubts or compromises to fulfill this directive.
We have witnessed damage caused by lack of rules that require transparency over media ownership.
We have now addressed this through the KPM law, as required for final beneficiaries.
As the directive requires, media transparency is directly linked to media freedom.
Since the nature of audio-visual services affects the formation of opinion, users have the right to know who is responsible for content.
In the form we have drafted and adopted the bill, it addresses recommendations coming out of the Country Report.
Supervision by an independent constitutional body, whose independence is increased through the greater number of board members, testifies to the division from politics and impacts the preservation of media operating independence, which is necessary and important”, Bislim said. /Periscope
