The Kosovo Central Bank has come up with a statement showing answers to the most frequent questions concerning the new regulation of cash operations.
The BEC says the only valid currency for conducting cash payments transactions and the national payment system in Kosovo is Euro.
“Other non-euro currencies can be used in the Republic of Kosovo as a value for physical storage or in bank accounts in non-euro currency, for conducting international payments in non-euro currency and for currency exchange activities”, said in the publication of the BQKCE.
The CB shows where the currency exchanges can be exchanged.
“Wave exchanges can be carried out in the Republic of Kosovo only through institutions licensed by the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo that offer this service, for all waves without exception from regulatory terms. ”
The CEC says the regulation has not set limits and allows the opening of accounts in all the currency the financial institution offers and the client agrees on.
The regulator has not set any restrictions on international transfer of tools to account. Therefore, transfer to any currency leaving the foreign country can be accepted and converted into euros worth equivalent to the appropriate course, according to its procedures to the client bank. ”
