Lack of development policies and limited access to finance are estimated by some of the barriers leading to major difficulties in businesses, which may be contributing factors in bankruptcy of many of them.
In a written response by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Trade say that during January-November 2023, the number of registered businesses is 10,000 and 790, while a thousand and 497 have been closed. MINT points out that the trend of opening and closing businesses is similar to that of 2022.
Meanwhile, business opening and closing figures in Kosovo are different from MINT and ATK.
Kosovo Tax Administration spokeswoman Valentina Bytyqi-Sefa said the number of businesses, which opened in 2023, is over 20 thousand, while another 20 have completed the event.
