US representative to the UN's KS, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, urged Kosovo and Serbia to refrain from being told by the uncoordinated or escalationd <x0 actions”, and encouraged the countries to return to the EU-enlightened dialogue.
On the dinar issue, she said the US has expressed concern over Kosovo's plan for implementing the BEC regulation, saying the <x0-vedience was taken without adequate preparation or consultation with the local population”
“The US remains committed to peace and stability in the Western Balkans, including our support for Kosovo's strength in line with the UN mandate. It is our aim together with European partners to promote democracy, economic-regional integration, a multiethnic society and rule of law”, she said at the UN KS.
“We urge Kosovo and Serbia to refrain from uncoordinated or escalating actions, and we encourage that the dialogue facilitated by the EU that the US strongly and consistently supports”.
“The US has expressed concern over Kosovo's plan for implementing the BEC regulation, amended regulation regarding cash transactions, and the decision has been taken without adequate preparation or consultation with the local population”.
“We call for implementation of this plan, but to be postponed until there are satisfactory procedures in line with European standards and good government practices. And the population affected is well educated and well informed”, she said.
The same one urged the Serbian government to co-operate in the effort.
