He had refused to play with Montenegro against Kosovo, while part of Crvena Zvezda. Ivanic even declared at the time: “I will not play against Kosovo, even if that means I will no longer gather in the Montenegrin National”.
Immediately after spreading news that the new coach could return Ivanic to the National, Montenegro's most fervent group of ultras came up with an official statement. Because of the rumors that surfaced in the media given after Prosinacki's statement of possible return of Ivan to our nationals, it is our duty to publicly express our position.
