An 83-year-old has attempted to commit suicide by jumping into the Drin River, but has been rescued in time from the general patrol of the Shkodra Police Commissioner.
During ordinary patrols, police efficiency has noted that a citizen was thrown from the Bahchallak Bridge to the Drin River waters. They have reacted immediately, taking a boat and drawing out the 83-year-old, who was still with signs of life, from the water.
Rescued, citizen L. P., 83, has been transported by ambulance to the Shkodra Regional Hospital to receive needed medical assistance. Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances of the event.
