The flight of 181 people aboard, while trying to land, touched the runway, was filled with flames, and then crashed into a wall at South Korean International Airport. Because of this plane crash, seven days of mourning have been declared in this country.
Two crew members, a man and a woman, were rescued from the tail of the plane, said North Korea firemen's spokesman, Lee Jung-hyun, adding that the fire has been reached.
The plane moved to South Korea from Bangkok, Thailand, trying to land on the track shortly after 0900 local time at the airport south of Seoul, the South Korean Transport Ministry said.
Authorities said two of the passengers on this plane were citizens of Thailand, while the rest are believed to be from South Korea.
This is the most serious air accident involving a South Korean airline in the last three decades. / REL/
