Airplanes fell across Ukraine on Tuesday morning to warn of Russian bombings until explosions were heard in parts of the capital, Kiev.
Authorities issued warnings in the Chernihiv regions, Sumi, Poltva, Luhansk, Dnepropetrovsk, Zaporizja, Kiev, Cerkasi, Kriovohard and Vinitisi.
Kiev's military administration reported that three private buildings and two vehicles in Darnisk County were damaged by Russian missile attacks. According to the administration's leader, Serhiy Popko, there were no victims.
On the other hand, the head of the municipal administration in Shostka, in the Sumi region, Mykola Noga, said 12 multistory residential buildings and two educational institutions were damaged, while some infrastructure objects were destroyed. You don't know if there are any victims.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the Yartsevo district of the Smolensk region in Russia.
The governor of the Smolensk region, Vasily Anokhin, said the pieces of fallen fears caused a fire.
These attacks occurred just a day after the United States announced it would support Ukraine with additional military assistance for strengthening defence along the front line.
The White House announced on Monday that the new aid includes US$1.25 billion military support from US reserves and a $1.22 billion package from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI).
Hours later, the Treasury Department announced that Ukraine will be allocated $3.4 billion as direct support from the budget.
The White House has increased support for the war-torn country before President Joe Biden's mandate expires next month.
Beden has pledged to increase support, but Monday's support is expected to be the last during his administration due to concerns that President-elect Donald Trump will limit or fully halt the supply of weapons to Ukraine, in order to push Kiev into peace talks with Russia.
Trump will take over on January 20th.
Russia is backing Ukrainian troops on front lines for weeks now, and said on December 29th that it conquered another city in the Donjeck region of Ukraine.
It is continuing long and bloody efforts to take over the almost destroyed Pokrovscu, which is the strategic centre of logistics in the south.
Russia's Defence Ministry said on December 30th that its forces occupied Novotroitski, a settlement with a pre-war population of 6,300, about 16km south of Pokrovsk.
The Ukrainian Army did not specifically comment on Novotroitske, but said Russian troops carried out 133 attacks in its positions, most of which in the Pokrovsk area. / REL/
