The European Union has said it is aware of the High Public Prosecutor's announcement in Belgrade that a decision will soon be made on the indictment against Milan Radojciqi.

That's how it was made known for Radio Free Europe, The Serbian-language edition from Brussels, recalling that Serbia is expected to provide “secure full responsibility for the perpetrators of the attack at Banjska”.

“This means prosecution and bringing suspects in Serbia to court and ensuring full co-operation in investigating the” attack, said EU spokeswoman Anita Hyper.

Belgrade's chief prosecutor, Nenad Stefanovic, said on December 2nd that the decision to indict Radojcicin, who claimed responsibility for the attack on Kosovo Police in Banjska, will be taken at the end of this year or early 2025.

The announcement came a day after Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti called on the international community to put pressure on Belgrade for the extradition of the former deputy Serbian party to Kosovo in Pristina.

As REL reports, several European Union member states insist on prosecuting Radojcik and other persons responsible for the attack on Banjska as condition of unblocking negotiations on Serbia's membership.

We remember that on September 24th last year, a member of the Kosovo Police remained killed when armed persons -- about 30 Sosh -- attacked police units in the village of Banjske dealt with the majority Serb residential area in the north.

Kosovo police after taking control of the monastery in the village of Banjska found a large quantity of arms and military vehicles, including vehicles with KFOR inscriptions.

The responsibility for organising the armed group was taken by Milan Radojciq, former deputy chairman of the Serbian List, the largest party of Kosovo Serbs. He was released by the Supreme Court of Serbia, a day after being detained under suspicion that he has committed a series of acts including arms trafficking and crimes against general security.

Radojciq, currently located in the system of the largest international police organisation, I NTERPOL for arrest warrants.
