In a surprise television appearance Thursday, he has said his move constitutes a legal decision to prevent the opposition's “collapse” of democracy and to fight “the parliamentary dictator”.
Yoon has indicated he will not resign before the second vote on his dismissal, due Saturday.
I am determined even if the decision to download or investigate is made. I will fight to the end of”, he said.
The president and his allies are facing investigations of uprisings, and some of them have been banned from leaving South Korea.
Yoon, however, has denied that declaring the situation of war has been an act of rebellion, claiming that his political rivals are now creating false reasonings to bring him down from power.
An attempt by opposition lawmakers to dismiss it has failed, as members of the president's party have boycotted the process.
Yoon has also accused North Korean sympathisers of trying to undermine his government when he declared the war situation on December 3rd.
The decision has resulted in political unrest and has been forced to withdraw the decision just hours after it was blocked by lawmakers. / REL/
