The report, according to the ombudsman, highlights several major problems, including low institutional awareness “for the necessity of data collection and the identity of cases of discrimination”.
“The loss of some of the fundamental links of the general system of prevention and protection against discrimination. The lack of implementation of anti-independence procedures for cases of discrimination. The insufficient implementation of the Law by the” courts, the ombudsman's announcement said.
The ombudsman, among other things, has stressed that the lack of institutional evidence for violations of the Law does not necessarily reflect the real situation, “since reports and complaints of discrimination in the public and private sector remain frequent”.
The report includes six concrete and practical recommendations aimed at improving law enforcement and ensuring a more effective protection against discrimination”.
